Gone Girl
monologue Broadside
Part C
Inspired Media
These broadsides were inspired by the 2014 movie "Gone Girl".
The goal of Part C was to combine the clear and dynamic direction of Part A and the experimentation and chaos of Part B.
sketches
I created a layout for Part C with a clear section in the middle featuring an overload of text at the bottom.
I sketched multiple variations.
Final Layout
For the final layout, there's a clear split in the middle- just like the split from the "cool girl" persona happened during the monologue. The colors are referencing both sides of the split because they are still the same person. I switched from a sans serif to a serif because I wanted this piece to feel more personal and be more from the real, authentic side of the main character. The top half of the split represents the persona of "cool girl," it's cool, calm, and clear. I added rings of texts as a call back to the poster from Part B, with the friendliness that circles bring. The red texts are the real side of our main character showing. The bottom half of the split is the real side of the main character. Smart, cunning, and pent up from all the suppressing she had to do to be "cool girl". The callout style refers back to the poster in Part A.Â
