Gone Girl

monologue Broadside

Part A

Inspired Media

These broadsides were inspired by the 2014 movie "Gone Girl".

The goal of Part A was to create a dynamic, interesting layout while keeping everything legible and able to read in a clear order.

Preliminary Layouts

I had three layouts created for Part A. The first one is the centered one. Off the bat, I felt compelled to work in color. I like how the words guide you around the page, and the main center piece is clean and captures your attention. The second layout I created was the left layout. I liked the layout, but the order of the words is not clear.  A similar can be said about the right and final layout. It's an interesting layout, but the words are going in too many directions to understand the order of the dialouge.

Final Layout

For the final layout, there's a clear lead in at the top. The text follows in a clear direction to the bottom of the poster, where the last large callout lies in red. I decided to use red, black, and blue as the main color palette. Blue for the facade of the "cool girl", red for her pent up anger of pleasing her husband and him betraying her, and black for her dark personality and plan hiding. I used sans-serif "Acumin Variable concept" to have no extra details and a clear, clean, frictionless image- just like "cool girls" do.
